Classrooms now a days have drastically changed compared to what they were years ago. Evolving over time with the transition of teacher lead and directed instruction to student focused and hands-on learning, the classroom experience has transformed. The development of technology has only made this transition easier and more adaptive to student needs, making learning individualized. Adaptive learning is the simple approach to make sure all students in your class have success in learning all content!
Why Adaptive Learning?
Technology in my school district has recently become more prevalent in each classroom, more Chromebooks, SmartBoards, Document Cameras, Printers etc. As a novice math teacher, learning the ropes of teaching and keeping all students engaged in math content, I began researching ways to incorporate technology in my classroom to provide my students with an individualized learning experience to promote a conceptual understanding of math concepts. Why not use the new technology to create the best learning experience for all students in our classrooms?
Adaptive learning is a technology-based or online educational system that analyzes a student's performance in real time and modifies teaching methods based on that data.
Imagine incorporating adaptive technology in your classroom... wouldn't it be awesome to have a technological program that is individualized to each of your students and gives you feedback based on their progress towards learning goals? Sounds wonderful to me.

Benefits of Adaptive Learning
While there are many benefits to adaptive learning that I have mentioned already, lets highlight some awesome ways that adaptive learning can change your classroom for the better.
- Learners receive the right content at the right time, maximizing learning efficiency, effectiveness, engagement, and retention. Being a new teacher, it is very difficult for me to create an effective lesson that incorporates all four of these major components into a successful lesson. Keeping students engaged while also including an efficient and effective way or maximizing learning and retention of concepts is, to me, the only way to successfully teach a classroom full of students. To me this is the most important benefit of using adaptive learning through technology in the classroom.
- Educators learn the dynamics through real-time analytics and know exactly what their learners are struggling with, so they can quickly adapt instruction. Who doesn't want immediate feedback on how your students are performing towards your instructional goals? The quicker, the better! This also gives us educators maximum time to make changes to the next days lesson before skipping over gaps, eliminating "catching up" on content.
- Learners become accountable for their own learning by closing the gap between a students comfort and frustration zone. Using the adaptive learning technology, learners are able to find the area where they are not repeating material they've already mastered nor challenging themselves at a level so challenging that they become frustrated or discourages. Students could be solving math problems that have them watch videos or do "research" on how to solve a problem and understanding why that method works rather than be given the method and solving. Using a customized method of accountability and difficulty, to me, creates smart students who aren't afraid to solve problems and creatively work out solutions, both in the classroom and outside of it!
Its very good thanks for your information these very helpful for me.
